I Just Have So Much to Say!
And that’s why I started this blog.
You see, I’m not new to blogging. I’ve been doing it over here for nigh on a year and a half now, and I really, really love it. My first blog started as a weekly series of posts about weight loss for urbanmoms.ca, a totally rad online community for moms started by my amazing sister, Jen. I discovered, thanks to Losing It! and urbanmoms.ca, that I love, love, LOVE to write. And – believe it or not – some people actually like to read what I write, too! And that just makes me happy: silly happy.
So why, you’re wondering, should I start another blog? If the status quo is so hunky-dory, why go lookin’ for more? Greedy, am I?
Well, yes and no. I mean, there’s no denying it, more of a good thing should, in theory be better. So yeah…I love blogging, ergo I blog some more. Guilty as charged. But also, there’s the important fact that my blog over at urbanmoms.ca is sponsored. That means I get paid to write it (paid to write – paid to write??? Can you say dream come true?) but it also means I need to respect the fact that it is – in fact – a job, and not a soap box. I do get a remarkable amount of freedom over at Losing It, but it is supposed to be a blog about weight loss (although I often and frequently digress to other areas). And while weight loss has been (and still is) a very important part of my life, there’s a lot more in me that wants to get out in the form of words on a screen.
Oh yeah. And as an added bonus, I happen to be a ridiculously opinionated and political person, and now I’ll have a place to share those opinions with the world. Or at least that part of it that I haven’t already managed to offend.
So I hope that those of you who’ve enjoyed Losing It! will also enjoy my new adventure in blogging and – just possibly – that I’ll be able to share the weird little world that is me with a few more people too.
So, welcome. Come on in. This is Kat.

congratulations on your blog! i’ve been following you on Losing It and am so happy you have started a personal blog. adding you to my bookmarks!!!
Can’t wait to read more!
I do understand when you say that you’ve disovered this passion to you’ve started blogging. I always thought I was a really logical person with absolutely no sense of creativity and when I started blogging, it became different. I discovered that I really loved writing when in the past, I kinda hated it. I’m not really good at languages, so… But now, I blog like everyday and even started writing short stories and poetry..
