So, the last few weeks I’ve been an evil bitch of a mother.
No really. I’ve yelled at my kids (lots). I’ve gotten upset at them for things they can’t help, things that fall into the “just being kids” category. Things I would tut-tut my husband for getting mad at them over, saying “you can’t expect them to [insert behaviour here] – they’re just little kids!” And I’ve blamed them for things I have no right blaming them for. Admit it – everyone has a few guilty pleasures they indulge in that they’d rather the rest of the world didn’t know about. And I’m certainly no exception. I love reading those confessional-type websites, where people go online and confess to things anonymously; I mean, honestly! The things people will say when they think nobody will know it’s them!

My husband finally admitted it last weekend: “I guess I just don’t like to get rid of furniture…”
Ya think???!!?
We still have no less than two old loveseats, an old kitchen table and three old arm chairs that graced his own childhood: given to us by his mother when we first moved in together. We also have nice, new leather furniture (one couch, one loveseat, two arm chairs) that I love. Plus a reasonably new dining set. But we also have our old WHITE CLOTH (yes, we have children and a cat who is prone to shedding) IKEA couch, our even older futon (who over the age of 30 owns a futon anymore?) and an old, stained, overstuffed loveseat – in our daughter’s bedroom because we have nowhere else to put it.
