Did you even hear about this? I only found out by accident yesterday when researching dishwashers on the Sears website and saw a link to the Earth Hour page on the WWF website. I clicked through and found out about this amazing event – turning off the lights from 8-9 pm on Saturday and taking a stand against climate change.
The event was pioneered in Sydney, Australia last year, and went worldwide this year. Read the rest of this entry »

GIRL2: Mommy, I can’t get my cast wet, right?
ME: That’s right.
GIRL2: What will happen if I do?
ME: (thinking of a good excuse to keep her from dripping juice all over her cast) Well, it might get wet inside and get really itchy.
GIRL2: That’s okay, I can handle itchy.
ME: (time to up the ante) Well, it might also get infected!
GIRL2: Oh, darn. I licked it. A lot…
She licked it???

Meet Girl2. Loves pink, princesses, pink, Hannah Montana, pink, makeup…oh, and did I mention pink? A self-proclaimed Tommy Girl (I think she thinks it means the opposite of tomboy. As for where she even heard the phrase, I have no idea.)
Recently, Girl2 cut her own hair, so we took her to the salon to have it fixed. While there, Girl1 asked for a haircut. I obliged. She wanted it short and layered. And it looks really, really cute.

Meet the “cake-mix cookie”:

I googled “chocolate cookies” and found a recipe for cake-mix cookies. Basically, all you do is eliminate the water in the recipe; you simply add 1/3 cup oil and 3 eggs to the cake mix, add 2 cups of chocolate chips, or butterscotch chips or peanut butter chips (whatever you like). Bake for 8-10 minutes and enjoy.
Simple. And delicious!
